Surrounding myself with beauty and creating spaces that feel harmonious by reflecting nature is important to me. I have been able to do this through floral design and first found my love for it as a child in my grandmother’s garden. I have always designed florals for family and friends since I can remember and that organically turned into my vocation.

Working from my home studio overlooking the cutting garden is where I feel most inspired. A graduate of Canadian Institute of Floral Design I have had the opportunity to provide florals for numerous weddings, businesses and homes throughout the Okanagan.

I would describe my style as natural and romantic: florals loose in structure with fully opened blooms. When designing I follow how plants and flowers grow in nature – the way they stretch towards the sun or how one bloom hides behind the other for shade.

As much as I can I try to use blooms, branches, greens and vines from my garden and sometimes forage for locally grown ingredients. Flower colours I gravitate towards are soft muted pinks, lavender, coral, soft blue and ivory which include garden roses, cafe au lait dahlias, ranunculus, lisianthus, delphinium, stock, to name a few. I find beauty in lush floral arrangements that are flower forward with minimal greens as well as a simple greenery table runner or several flower stems of one variety in a glass vase.
